8 things about me
1. I run a public library right outside of Philadelphia and I love doing it despite all the headaches that come with it. I've always loved libraries and I still can't get over the fact that I actually run the place. The fact that I live across the street from the library and I don't have to travel far or pay for gas or transportation is easy to live with.
2. I've been playing guitar since I was 14, my younger brother got a guitar for Christmas and I got a basketball..........That changed real fast !
3. My family moved from Philadelphia to Lorain, Ohio for 7 years and thats where I went to High School and played in too many local bands to mention, we were good enough to get gigs but it was mostly for the fun of playing in bands (sex, drugs, rock & roll, alcohol & violence) it wasn't till later when I moved back to Philly that I got a bit more serious and started recording with some of my friends that had a small studio.
4. I've been in 8 bad car accidents, shot at twice, electrocuted once, almost fell from a 3rd story ledge on Cleveland Public Auditorium while trying to sneak into a Jethro Tull concert under the influence of LSD and the Cleveland Police throwing their nightsticks at me and my friend trying to pick us off the wall (Could you imagine that on your gravestone?) and a little bout with Congestive Heart Failure.
5. I've taken enough drugs in my life to kill Canada.
6. Never been married but I came close two times to the same woman and then she was killed in Nevada right before we were about to get back together a third time. I'm still looking for the right woman but I can't find one willing to sacrifice her sanity to be with me.
7. I've been lying to my friends and family......they think I quit smoking after the Congestive Heart Failure…… I am going to quit, really, no, really.....no shit, Really !!
8. I have two ghosts that live with me on my 3rd floor, one even sleeps with me and she whispers things in my ear.

 | I'm so sorry to hear this news...though I did know he was facing a lot of health issues. As a fellow librarian, and just somebody who really enjoyed talking back and forth with him, I can say he will be missed terribly.

 | omg. I am sooooo sorry for your loss - and our loss too. Michael was one of the nicest and most generous guys on here. Many a time did he find stuff for me without me even asking. When he saw I was interested or having a problem with something, he came to the rescue, asap. But more than anything, I will miss his big heart and the kind words he always had. He was a real man - a man with integrity and class - a man I will never forget - a man who will be sorely missed by whomever he came in contact.
Even though this is heartbreaking news, I would like to thank you for letting us know. God bless you and your family during these sad times. And to Michael up there?! -- love you bro!! |

 | Michael was one of my first friends on multiply. I'm shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts go out to his family. I am a much better person for having known him. We have certainly lost a true giant in this game. I am not normally much of a Catholic these days, but hopefully the Apostle's Creed, said during the Rosary prayers, will help some of those in mourning for this tragic loss:

 | I've been out of whack since hearing this. I'm so sad because Mike was my co-worker, and ever since the first day we've worked together - my friend. We used to get into so much trouble for laughing and talking in the library loudly. He always lent me money when I needed a snack & always shared his meal when I was hungry, and I know that doesn't seem like much - but it was. Mike really helped me to deal with the death of my Mom, which was almost 4 years to the date of his passing. He helped returning to work not so hard... The last time I heard from him, he gave me suggestions for a beginner's guitar, and I was gonna harass him into teaching me. Remember friends - live every day like it's the last time you'll see the ones you love. Mike I will miss you - and God willing, I will see you again one day. |
